Dr. Athul Kumar Mathur is a highly accomplished Consultant General Surgeon with a distinguished career spanning several decades and continents. He earned his MBBS from NRS Medical College, University of Calcutta (1986), and his MS (Master of Surgery) from MLB College, Jhansi (1991). He enhanced his surgical expertise with certificate courses in laparoscopic surgery at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad (1999), and AIIMS, New Delhi (2016 and 2017). Dr. Mathur has been a Fellow of the Association of Indian Surgeons (FAIS) since 1998. He has served in prestigious organizations across India, including SAIL and Indian Oil, and worked as a specialist surgeon in a busy provincial hospital in Mozambique, Africa, for four years. Since 2008, Dr. Mathur has been practicing in Abu Dhabi at LLH Medical Centre, where he performs outpatient consultations, surgical procedures in the operating theater, emergency care, inpatient management, and participates in medical camps. With extensive experience in both minor and major surgeries, Dr. Mathur is particularly skilled in a wide range of laparoscopic procedures. His surgical expertise includes appendectomy, hernia repairs (both open and laparoscopic), cholecystectomy, and complex surgeries such as right hemicolectomy, splenectomy, and mastectomy.
