Biography

Dr. Ankit Khurana is a highly accomplished Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon who has served as orthopedic teaching faculty in New Delhi, India. He holds an impressive array of qualifications, including an MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), an MS in Orthopedics from PGIMER Chandigarh, a DNB, an MRCS (Glasgow), and an FRCS (Tr & Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His extensive training includes prestigious fellowships in Foot and Ankle Surgery at UAB, Alabama, USA (2019), Arthroplasty and Sports Medicine in Solihull, UK (2018), and a Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Barcelona, Spain (2024–25). Dr. Khurana’s clinical and academic expertise spans orthopedics, foot and ankle surgery, and sports medicine. He previously served as a Senior Resident at AIIMS, New Delhi, where he honed his skills in high-volume tertiary care settings. As an Assistant Professor, he actively contributes to postgraduate education and mentorship. He has authored 40 journal publications—38 of which are indexed—and four book chapters in international publications. Dr. Khurana is a member of several professional bodies, including the Indian Orthopedic Association (IOA), AO Trauma, ISKSAA, and IFAS. He currently serves as an Executive Member of the Delhi Orthopedic Association (2021–24) and the Indian Foot and Ankle Society (2022–25). His academic contributions have earned him five Best Paper Awards at national and state conferences, as well as top honors in the IFAS Annual Quiz (runner-up in 2020, winner in 2021). Dedicated to advancing orthopedic care, Dr. Khurana is involved in numerous research projects and clinical trials, including comparative evaluations of surgical approaches in foot and ankle trauma, assessment of acetabular cup orientation in hip arthroplasty, and studies on ACL reconstruction techniques. His career goals focus on further specialization in foot and ankle surgery while continuing his commitment to teaching and academic collaboration. A prolific researcher, Dr. Khurana has authored 40 journal publications—38 of which are indexed—and four book chapters in international publications. His research portfolio includes randomized controlled trials, meta-analyses, and systematic reviews on topics such as minimally invasive surgery for calcaneal fractures, management of osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, and advanced surgical techniques in foot and ankle reconstruction.
