Dr. Sapna Kumari Kantesh is an experienced physician with over six years of clinical expertise in medicine and obstetrics & gynecology (OBGYN). Her passion for medicine was evident from an early stage, leading her to pursue an MBBS from Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Sindh, Pakistan. She began her medical career with a one-year internship at Civil Hospital Hyderabad, gaining foundational experience in diverse medical cases. Dr. Sapna’s clinical journey has allowed her to develop extensive proficiency in multiple specialties, particularly OBGYN and general medicine. She is a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS) in Obstetrics & Gynecology, having successfully passed all FCPS examinations on her first attempt. Additionally, she cleared the MRCOG (Part 1) and underwent four years of intensive residency training at the prestigious Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi. - "Frequency and Etiology of Acute Kidney Injury in Obstetrics and Gynecology Patients" This research aimed to determine the frequency and causes of acute kidney injury (AKI) in obstetric and gynecological patients at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi, Pakistan, over a six-month period (2021–2022). Findings from a sample size of 183 patients revealed that acute kidney injury was observed in 32 patients (17.5%). The study concluded that antepartum hemorrhage was the most common cause of AKI, followed by postpartum hemorrhage and gestational hypertension.
