Dr. Ramya Appanraj is a young and dynamic ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. She completed her MBBS at Madurai Medical College, Madurai, and went on to pursue an MD in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. She further honed her expertise by completing a long-term fellowship in the Vitreoretinal Department at the renowned Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. Currently, Dr. Ramya serves as a Vitreoretinal Consultant at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, a position she has held for the past four and a half years. Dr. Ramya has an impressive academic portfolio, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in respected national and international journals, including the British Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye, Oman Journal of Ophthalmology, and Indian Journal of Ophthalmology. She is a frequent speaker at both national and international conferences, sharing her insights and clinical expertise. Her areas of special interest include advanced retinal imaging, innovations in vitreoretinal surgical techniques, and the integration of cutting-edge technology in ophthalmic practice. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ramya is a passionate academician, dedicated to teaching and contributing to ongoing research in the field of ophthalmology.
