Dr. Sumera graduated in 1996 from Dow Medical University, followed by her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology from Aga Khan University. She completed her FCPS in Medicine in 2002 and FCPS in Cardiology in 2007. After her post-graduation, she joined Aga Khan University as a consultant cardiologist in 2007 and has since worked in different hospitals in Pakistan. In the UAE, she worked from 2015 to 2019 and then returned to Pakistan, where she served as a professor\/consultant cardiologist. She has 18 years of experience in the field of cardiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Sumera has a special interest in women’s heart issues and collaborated with Dr. Bar Barbra Robert at Brown University in women’s cardiology. She is particularly interested in interventional cardiology, for which she completed a Fellowship from the College of Angiography and Intervention (FSCAI) in 2018 after performing 4000 interventional procedures. In 2018, she also underwent level two training in CT angiography from the British Society of Imaging in England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
